They travel across the land battling human enemies and monsters. Ivy, the Druid does most of the magic. Arriving in the village below the castle, from which no one has returned, the dwarf, who is a master brewer, takes over the town brewery in order to make three hogsheads (180 gallons) of illegal dwarven ale for the Mid Summer's Eve celebration inside the castle. The adventurers ride into the castle on the delivery wagons, find the black pool and use magic to battle the demons in the pool, saving the duke. But it is not over. Ivy marries the dwarf and becomes the new king's seer. They have a child who, when he is three, is taken to the dwarf kingdom. Someone is killing the king's sons. The dwarf is next. Ivy must use all her magic and intuition to find the killer. Why the odd arrangement? This story was originally written as a romantic adventure for Ivy and the dwarf. Larry's nephew, Roger Hawkins, a well-known game master employed in the industry, was asked to review it to make sure it was playable. He discovered Larry had failed tp provide backstories for the other characters, so he wrote them. Larry was delighted and gave Roger co-author cover credit and a few copies of the book.
