Read the following before ordering: This is the same solenoid used by all eleven of the car companies that offered the Borg Warner electric overdrive as an option from the late 1930's through the early 1960's. This solenoid will fit standard Borg Warner overdrive applications with a shaft length of 1", measured from the tip of the shaft to the edge of the alignment flange. (lay your ruler on top of the shaft and measure from the ball end to the edge of the alignment casting). The alignment casting is the round part in the center of the large flange with the 2 mounting holes.This solenoid fits the STANDARD 1" applications. Please check you shaft length before ordering. MEASURE SHAFT LENGTH BEFORE ORDERING TO MAKE SURE YOURS IS indeed 1 INCH IN LENGTH.Solenoid wiring terminals with the solenoid in hand and the shaft facing out in front of you, the right hand terminal is number four and connects to the relay. The left hand terminal connects to the kick down switch. A small amount of solenoids had a third wire that was a ground if yours is one of those check your shop manual and it will confirm where the third wire goes. Most solenoids had screw in terminals, a few had internal connections with wires coming out of the solenoid. Wiring connections for both are the same.
