Description: First - Please ignore that fuzzy black mark in all my pictures. It is NOT on the item but somewhere in my camera. Offered here is an antique large sterling silver soup ladle in the MEDALLION pattern by Gorham. It was patented in 1864 and has the old Gorham mark and is also marked sterling. Also, it is easy to date the manufacture of this fine piece to no later than 1865. This is due to the additional mark of Gorham & Co., which was only used between 1852 and 1865. This fine piece is very heavy and measures approx. 14" in length. There is an etched design the top portion of the bowl (see pics). It is monogramed with an old period monogram on the back. There are some shallow dents in the bowl but no holes or bends (see pics.). Beautiful antique sterling piece over 159 years old. Still useful and in good antique condition. The dents can be removed if you so desire. I have lightly polished this fine antique piece so it will come to you clean and ready to use or display. Shipping includes insurance and signature confirmation. My home is clean, smoke and pet free.
