It has one dual-sided aspherical element to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations for improved sharpness and clarity. It also has a Super Spectra coating to prevent flare and ghosting and enhance color accuracy. The lens features an Optical Image Stabilizer that reduces camera shake by three stops, making it easier to shoot handheld in low-light situations. Moreover, it has a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor that provides fast, quiet autofocus and allows full-time manual focus override.
