Description: Interesting wood plate presented to Mrs George Romney on her birthday in 1963. It was a gift from Stephen W Mamchur and the Ukrainian American Republican Association in Michigan. Mamchur was the honorary chairman of the association at the time. I find one published work by Mamchur, “The Natural Process and Rational Techniques in Culture Change among Ukrainians in America”. C1950. George W Romney was an American businessman and Republican Party politician. He was chairman and president of American Motors Corporation from 1954 to 1962, the 43rd governor of Michigan from 1963 to 1969. Also the father of Mitt Romney. The wood plate is 9 ½” in diameter and has a wonderful and colorful geometric pattern. Includes the original string hanger, green felt backing and original gift text on the back. This is one of a kind item. Very good overall condition.
