(The Original Broadway production opened October 29th, 1941 at the Imperial Theatre in New York City and ran for 547 performances before going on the road.) ..... The musical starred BENNY RUBIN, MARY JANE WALSH, BRENDA FORBES, CYNDA GLENN, JACQUELINE SUSANN, LESLIE LITOMY, BETTY BREWER, PENNY EDWARDS, TOM POWERS, KEITH HALL, ZARCO & BERYL and BEN YOST and his WHITE GUARDS ..... Side Note: JACQUELINE SUSANN (1918-1974) is best known for her controversial novels, most notably "Valley of the Dolls", but started her career as an actress, appearing in seven Broadway plays and musicals between 1936 and 1945 .....
