Description: For sale today is the rare, classic, and out-of-print (oop) New Media Publishing softcover paperback/prestige format comic Comics The Golden Age: Edited by Ron Goulart #3, published in 1984. Comics: The Golden Age (1984), edited by Ron Goulart, is a nice guide to all things from the Golden Age of comic books. Includes articles on Sub-Zero, Sparky Watts, Plastic Man, Catman, Slam Bradley, and much more. 50 pages, cardstock cover, I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This copy is in good overall condition considering its age, with an attached spine and very good overall inside pages with minimal to light signs of natural yellowing over time (photo#13 example). Its covers do show some signs of wear, primarily in the form of spine waves, with 2 larger corner creases on the back. **Photo#3:-Spine edge: ~4 small color breaks spread along it. Light ~1.5" waves/depressions starting at the edge spread along it, more prominent vertical ones near it on back cover (photo#12 w/illumination). **Photo#4: -Upper spine corner: Some scuffing/peeling around it. ~3" moderate wave/depression around corner on each cover (from the physical appearance it looks as if it were water effects, although the pages are completely unaffected and while in my possession I have never spilled anything on it. Could be from general moisture over its ~30 years of life). **Photo#5:-Lower spine corner: Some light scuffing/peeling around it **Photo#6: -Front cover top edge: Light if any shelf-scuffing/wear.-Outer corner: Light vertical ~1" indent. Small indent/scuff/bend at corner itself, goes thru most pages as a light bend. **Photo#7:-Front cover bottom edge: Tiny scuff near its middle, light nearby ~1/2" cover crease near the middle (photo#10 w/illumination), otherwise light if any shelf-scuffing.-Outer corner: Light vertical ~3/4" indent around corner from back covers' flaw. Tiny scuff/bend/cover peel, goes thru ~1/3 pages lightly. **Photo#8: -Back cover top edge: Light if any shelf-scuffing/wear.-Outer corner: ~1" vertical crease. Scuffing/light color breaking around corner. **Photo#9:-Back cover bottom edge: Small scuff near its middle, otherwise light levels of shelf-scuffing.-Outer corner: ~6" and ~2" creases around corner. Vertical ~1" indent/crease around corner, goes thru pages as a light indent. ~1/2" crease/indent/scuff/bend at extreme corner, goes thru most pages as an indent/bend. **Additionally: Front cover has a few patches of light dirty marks/streaks near its top edge (photo#11 w/illumination). 3 small indents/depressions near the top edge, 1 more near bottom outer corner, and a very light ~1/2" one near the page edge. ~6 small indents/scuffs spread along the page edge (also in photo#11). Light ~1/2" crease/depression near bottom edge's middle. ~2" vertical scratch towards upper spine corner. Back cover has ~4 small indents/depressions near its top edge, another 3 near its center (photo#12 w/illumination). Another more prominent ~1" one near its center. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I both buy to read as well as sell TPBs on here, so I understand how aggravating it is to receive a comic damaged in transit. I always pack books firmly between pieces of cardboard (among other materials/layers) via Gemini Comic mailers or bubble mailers depending on size; usually utilizing boxes for larger lots. If you have any questions or would like any additional photos, feel free to let me know. I'm always happy to combine shipping costs - either message me before completing purchase for a pre-payment price adjustment, or alternatively I can provide a refund afterwards. Thanks, and have a spectacular day!
