Description: This is a fully functional vintage Commodore 64 home computer with an original Commodore 64 box. The serial on sticker on the box is faded so not sure if it matched the computer. The box is in ok condition (See Pictures). It comes with everything you need to turn it on and use it: - Working Commodore 64 computer, in an original box - A Composite Video Cable - A power supplies. It is what is called a "Re-Bricked" power supply, consisting of modern UL listed 5v DC power supply and a 9V AC transformer placed into a third party Commodore 64 brick power supply case. It is much lighter than the original. Heat sinks have been added to the chips that get hot, See Pictures The PLA and Basic ROM chips have been replaced with modern replacement. The PLA is a GAL PLA and the Basic ROM is an EPROM. The Basic ROM showed as bad during Diagnostic testing. There were 3 Commodore MOS logic chips on this computer and all 3 have been replaced with new non-MOS chips. The MOS chips are known to fail so it is best to replace them.. It has an original SID chip. I highly recommend that you NEVER use the original Commodore "Brick" power supply that came with the system as they are prone to failure after 30+ years and will damaged the computer by shorting and damaging multiple internal components. System is tested for basic functionality and given a full tested with a C64 Dead Test Cartridge System was opened and a full C64 Diagnostics Run with C64 Test Harness Any failures were fixed, including but not limited to board level repairs, replacement of PLA, replacement of 6510, replacement of CIAs, replacement of SID, replacement of individual memory ICs, logic ICs, fuses, DIN ports, etc. until diagnostics pass completely with no failures. Keyboards was tested for functionality of every key Video output tested the DIN video connection with the included cable. Heat sinks are attached to all of the chips that get Hot. The VIC II chip, gets hot and replacements are now expensive and rare. Systems are given a cleaning, but has not been retro-brited.
