'Wake for Susan' and 'A Drowning Incident' were published in October 1959 and March 1960 respectively, in the literary magazine of his alma mater, the University of Tennessee. The stories were his first published fiction, and provide a vivid glimpse of what was to come... Never collected, and largely forgotten, they are now brought back into print in this set of two matching chapbooks. I will happily answer any further questions. Making offers: I certainly can appreciate wanting a better deal, and I've made offers myself on my own purchases. To be up front, if and when you make an offer, I will automatically reject crazy low "give it away" offers. Best not to waste our time. With a more reasonable offer, I will review current pricing for other comparable items out there and either accept, counter or decline submitted offer. If in that review, I find my pricing is already LOW and outdated, I may then increase the price to bring more in line with other offerings. I spend a lot of time sourcing the best offerings, preparing the listings with images and clear descriptions, and price fairly in MOST cases. I remain grateful to all who consider my offerings, and I look forward to serving your needs respectfully and with success.
