Description: This listing is for a custom magic the gathering Commander/EDH deck. This is a complete ready-to-play 100-card deck, and all of the cards are authentic English-version magic cards. I took several pictures that show all of the cards in the deck, so please look at those pictures so you can see what all of the cards do and how they interact with each other. In the movie “Training day”, Denzel Washington’s character says, “This is chess. It ain’t checkers.” I’m pretty sure that was a metaphor about this deck. If you’re a beginner and you’re looking for a deck that is fun and simple yet powerful, check out my other decks. I have plenty that you’ll love. This deck is for advanced players who enjoy seeing several moves ahead and strategizing the most efficient way to guarantee their win. To do this, you’ll not only have to know your own deck inside and out, but you’ll also have to know your opponents’ decks and their tendencies. Here’s how the deck works. In your first couple turns you’ll want to play some ramp and lifegain spells to give you a head start and some extra life to play with later. Then you cast K’rikk. K’rikk has the ability to get incredibly powerful and gain you a ton of life, but his mana reduction ability is the key to this deck. Any time you would otherwise pay a black mana to cast a card or activate an ability you can pay two life instead. Using your life as a resource, you’ll be able to draw through your deck and tutor for the cards that you’ll need for a combo. As you do this, you’ll be paying a ton of life, but that is actually a good thing! Once you have your combo pieces and your life is at a critically low level (five or less) it’s time to make your move. Play “Repay in Kind” , “Soul Conduit”, “Profane Transfusion”, or “Magus of the Mirror” and switch life totals with your opponents and then cast a simple drain spell to close out the game. The key to this deck is finding the perfect card in the perfect situation to help you switch life totals and then the perfect card to finish out your opponents by draining them to zero. There are a ton of tutors in this deck. Some of them can search for any card in your library, but others are a little more restrictive. Cards that have “transmute” only let you search your library for a card with the exact same casting cost. However, the cost of this “transmute” ability is only one colorless and four life. Which makes these “transmute” cards incredibly efficient ways of tutoring your combo cards early in the game. Since there are many different cards that you could use to switch life totals with your opponents, and they have varying casting costs you’re likely to be able to find the perfect target with these “transmute” cards. This deck is also loaded with removal spells to hold off your opponents and protection spells to protect K’rikk or your combo pieces. These spells require very little if any colorless mana to cast them so you can rely totally on your life total to cast them for free. This means you don’t have to save any mana for a well-timed removal or protection spell. I’ve summarized the quickest and easiest way to win with this deck but there are a ton of other ways you can win by using your own life total and manipulating your opponents’ life totals. Every time you play this deck, you’ll be able to find new and creative ways to win the game. There are also some combos in here that will provide you with infinite mana or infinite card draw. If you enjoy complex decks that are incredibly powerful and let you play a ton of cards and win the game early, check this deck out! Most if not all of these cards are in Near Mint or Mint condition.
