Cy Young began his career with the Cleveland Spiders (Indians) in 1890, He was with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1899-1900, then went to the Red Sox from 1901-1908 leading them to a World Series Championship in 1903. He finished up his career with Cleveland and Boston 1909-1911. Later he managed the Boston Americans. Young was such an outstanding pitcher that the best pitcher in each league is awarded the "Cy Young" award each season. Young won a Major League record 511 games, struck out 2,803 and had an ERA of 2.63. He led the league in Wins 5 times, ERA twice, K's twice, pitched 3 No-Hitters and a Perfect Game. Young is a member of the Red Sox Hall of Fame, the Indians/Guardians Hall of Fame and Baseball's All-Century Team. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937.
