Evert Moll (1878-1955) was a Netherlandish painter and etcher, active from circa 1893 until his death. A natural talent and mostly self-taught, he also studied with Dutch painters Willem Maris (1844-1910) and Willem Roelofs (1822-1897). Evert Moll was an adherent of the Hague School and a member of the artists’ association Pulchri Studio in The Hague. He found the activity of the great port of Rotterdam to be a source of inspiration and subject matter. He is primarily known for his shipping scenes, but was also a fine painter of ‘en plein air’cityscapes, landscapes, and colorful flower still lifes. Works by Moll can be found, in the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen and the Boymans-van Beuningen museum in Rotterdam, amongst others.
