Description: Up for sale is a 1947 brass? metal cigarette case with lighter made by Elgin. Elgin American is printed inside on the lever arm with a spring to hold your individual cigarettes. There is an engravable area on the front within a rhombus shaped design. Very classy perfect for a classic Hollywood movie. I have no idea how to work the lighter. I have to say that the lighter is for looks at this point. There is a mechanism that opens on the lighter when the case is closed. This will be shipped without any lighter fluid. I think that it is missing a flint as it is probably supposed to automatically light when you closed the case. The case is scratched on both sides and maybe a very slight dent on the front. It doesn't look bad for 70+ years. This would be a great project for the vintage lighter collector. It may work great with a little TLC, I just do not know.
