Description: ENGLAND, Edward VI in the name of Henry VIII, Penny, 1547-1551, Tower mint, Spink 2417. Some edge loss, but and exceptional portrait of Henry VIII. These coins were struck during the early years of Edward VI reign, bearing the name and the portrait of his deceased father, Henry VIII. Similar to Henry VIII reign, silver coins were heavily debased and, thus, not too many survived to date in good condition. This one, despite some edge loss, resembles a well-preserved portrait of an old King. This coin comes from my own collection.
