Description: English Bristol Pottery pearlware documentary jug dated 1819 A beautifully bright documentary jug with a sentimental poem of friendship under the initials JR and dated June 27th 1828. I believe this is ‘Bristol Pottery’ although it is unmarked. The decoration of the spout is idiosyncratic to the Bristol Pottery as are the ‘Fyfieldesque’ floral decorations. (See Lot 1104, Christies (Auction 5151 British and Continental Auctions. 5th July 2007) Dimensions: 24cm across spout and handle x 18.5cm high x 17.5cm diameter at widest. Weight: 1.06kg Condition: Has had professional restoration to the rim which can be seen under UV light. Good sound when tapped. Beautiful example of Museum quality. (T78)
