Here we are offering a rare, highly collectible, TRUE first edition, first printing of Ernest Hemingway's classic "The Old Man and the Sea." hardcover book published in 1952 complete with original dust jacket. What makes this book a true first edition, first printing, is both the Scribner "A" designation and colophon symbol on the copyright page. There are other first editions of this book but all different printings, starting from 2nd printing. These will not have the "A" designation and colophon on the copyright page. We rate the book in overall good very good condition, with some signs of the usual aging including faint remnants of names appearing to have been written in pencil on the first opening page, a few imperfections / spots on the inside front book cover and inside back book cover. Still looks great though in our opinion. etc. The original dust jacket we would rate fair / good condition with some small chips old tape on the inside of the cover.
