Description: Fantastic Sterling Silver Repousse Hinged Inkwell Beautiful design in very good condition with no issues noted. Hinge works with no problems, etc. My best guess is this dates to 1900-1930. It has a very dark patina and looks like it hasn't been polished in 100 years (lol).Up to you if you want to polish it or not. I rather imagine that this was a traveling inkwell. It has the original glass insert bottle with sterling lid. The sterling lid on the ink bottle is monogrammed. It is marked "sterling". There is another small manufacturers mark which I cannot tell what it is. But this is very clearly an American made piece. Most probably Baltimore. A great collector piece for the collector of Repousse sterling or inkwells. I am seeing similar items priced at $395 - $600. I have tried to price this competitively. You are free to make an offer but not ridiculous. I will consign it to a high grade auction firm.
