Description: For sale is this number 8 cast iron handled griddle from Favorite Stove & Range. The name Piqua Ware comes from the town where the foundry was located Piqua, Ohio. The company produced cast iron cookware from 1916 until 1934. The cooking surface is polished smooth with prominent milling marks still showing. Perfect for cooking pancakes or quesadillas. The bottom has Favorite’s smiley logo at the top and size number 8 at the bottom. There is an area of faint sulfur pitting on the bottom indicating this piece was used on the wood and coal fuel stoves of the era. Sits flat with small movement when the left and right sides are pressed. Does not spin. Cleaned to bare iron using electrolysis and seasoned 3 times.
