Description: 140 pages and more than 120 illustrations and charts, size 8.25 x 10.75 inches. This manual is a 2024 revised and expanded edition of Jim Riff’s personal notes for the service and maintenance of the Ferrari 250 series. It includes repair data applicable to the 250GT, 250GTE, 250GTL, 250SWB and other similar models. After publishing Jim’s original ‘250/GT Service & Maintenance’ notes in 2006, we began to search for additional documentation relating to this series of Ferraris and we were fortunate enough to acquire copies of the factory ‘Laycock Overdrive Service Manual for the 250GTE/330GT’, plus additional Weber and Marelli documentation appropriate to the 250 series. This information has now been appended to Jim’s 2006 publication to produce this revised and expanded 2024 edition. In addition, we were also able to obtain copies of the factory 250GT ‘Directions for the Use and Upkeep’ (owner’s workshop manual) a 250GT ‘Spare Parts Catalog’ plus a copy of the 250GTE ‘Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook’. We have now compiled these three items into a single publication under ISBN 9781588502940. Obviously, while there will be some cross-duplication of the information contained in Jim Riff’s manual, this additional compilation of three factory publications can be considered to be an extension of Jim’s work and, when used in conjunction with each other, they create the most comprehensive service, maintenance and overhaul manual available for the Ferrari 250 series of automobiles. Owners and enthusiasts of these early Ferrari automobiles may also find ISBN 9781588502728 a ‘Ferrari Handbook’ to be of interest. This publication contains technical data and statistics for the majority of the 1948 to 1958 Ferrari road and race cars. It also includes 60 pages of component drawings, wiring diagrams, lubrication and brake schematics, exploded views etc. for those early models. We encourage you to exercise caution when purchasing technical publications for your Ferrari as many of the reprints found on internet websites are from ‘bedroom sellers’ at enticingly low prices by individuals that really have no idea what they are selling. Many are nothing more than poor quality, comb-bound photocopies that are scanned and printed complete with greasy pages and thumbprints and, as such, are deceptively described as ‘pre-owned’, ‘used’ or even ‘refurbished’. In addition, they are often advertised for the incorrect series and/or model years. However, VelocePress.com has been publishing reprints of motorcycle and automobile manuals since 2003 and our publications have earned excellent reviews worldwide so you can be assured you are purchasing a quality product.
