Description: Up for bid, is an original G. Loomis Tube and Endcap for their Pro 4X Shortstix Fly Rod. The Tube measures ( outside measurements ) approx. 2 5/8" diameter x 35 1/4". Since it is designed for a 3-pc 7 1/2' Fly Rod with Sock, it will fit a standard 4-pc 9' Fly Rod with room to spare. Material is Cordura Nylon Canvas with Plastic Ends and 'grippy' threaded Plastic CAP with Foam Insert, and includes an integral carrying Strap. If you take your Rods with you to the water, this is the Tube you want - it has softer materials and corners, that won't 'bonk' as loudly against the floor of a Skiff, as an Aluminum Tube will. And the carrying Strap gives you something to secure the Tube to with a Bungee Cord or Ziptie, when traveling - a feature that really comes in handy when moving fast, hiking the backcountry, during a particularly bumpy crossing or when running a sketchy rapid. A Sit on Top Kayak guy will particularly appreciate the tie-down feature of this Tube with Handle. The Tube is also lighter than aluminum. No Sock. No Rod. Just the Tube with Endcap. This Tube remains in excellent to near new condition, because I store and travel with a Sock and Travel Case. The most significant defect is as shown in the 3rd photo - a scuff mark at the bottom of the Tube. The Tube has never left my non-smoking home, since I bought the Rod new. Good Luck bidding.
