Description: Here is a classic G. Loomis GL3 Spey Rod (FR1689/10-3). It's a 14' rod that breaks down into 3 pieces. It belonged to my late father, and I believe it has only been lawn cast and never been on the water. You can see from the condition of the ferrules that this thing hasn't even been assembled more than a few times. It's made for big fish on big rivers. As a 9/10 weight it's suitable for both steelhead and larger salmon. I've always appreciated the venerable GL3 series because it strikes a good balance between weight and durability. It's MUCH lighter than GL2 but doesn't sacrifice much in terms of ruggedness. On the other hand, it is much sturdier than rods based on IMX, GLX, and above materials, but doesn't feel all that much heavier (at least to me.) Comes with original rod tube and sock. Tube is dusty/dirty from being in a closet for over a decade, including a small rip in the cordura that I've tried to capture in the photo's.
