What follows is an accurate depiction of a long and bloody conflict wherein thousands died and an ancient civilization crumbled. The main reason being that by 1519 the Aztecs were despised by their conquered neighbors; whom they oppressed. Thus they formed pacts with the Spaniards. Had it not been for the indigenous allies the conquest would not have been possible.
