The gear ratios are optimized to be larger at slow speeds and smaller at high speeds which improves drivetrain efficiency and shifting.Because of the popularity of the HG freehub body, this cassette is compatible with many wheels and drivetrains. The smaller 11 cogs are machined from nickel plated steel while the largest 12th cog is made from 7075-T6 aluminum.This cassette works with Shimano HG freehub bodies and both Shimano and SRAM 12-speed derailleurs. While it is compatible with many 12-speed chains, we suggest you use Shimano 12-speed chains for the best shifting performance.
