Originally designed and built for a themed business in Florida but plans had changed so it sat on display for the past 3 months 99% completed. Why 99%? Well, this giant 8.5-foot robot was installed (designed to be assembled and disassembled) was put in place without the jet pack installed or the few final wires connected, however It was done at the workshop where it was made. It has arms that can be position but the unit is designed to be for static display. The functions include: A center plasma glass globe with lights that are sound activated, an internal smoke machine that has valves to direct the safe smoke out of different places on the robot and or the jet pack, it also features additional flashing lights and a rotating radar thingy. It can play music (BT) or a (BT) headset module can be plugged into a side port and an internal sound generator (amplifier) with several different robotic sounds can be generated and talk to customers and or friends from a distance. Cool! When plugged in the eyes light-up with red centers just like the Terminator. For some reason the front lights stopped working so this would need to be addressed to why and repaired, it could be something as simple as a fuse in the fuse box located on his back. The unit works on 110 volts and power is reduced to 12 volts internally for the electronic workings. This would be a great investment for someone with some basic electronic skills as the manufacture told us that all of the circuit boards were purchased on ebay and inexpensive and readily available. At current time it is assembled and can be disassembled easily for pick up and re-assembled in only a few minutes. One of the best features is its ability to home in on a person moving in front and the head will turn about 160 degrees left to right and follow that person. It only needs someone with some basic mechanical skills to remedy a few things to make it function 100%. The construction is 100% ABS plastic and was made by CNC and Laser-Cutting with all joints glue-bonded with the look of welded steel, and painted as if it were distressed. I would estimate the finished weight of about 150 pounds. It bolts to the floor using electrical pipe straps and is sturdy and secure. As far as actual cost of this Giant Robot I will just say that at this price you are paying less than 1/4 of it's design and manufacturing price. I am listing it as brand new because it has only been assembled and on display since this past February, thought the project took nearly two years to complete. It is the perfect STEAMPUNK addition to theme.
