Description: I purchased this 1981 Gibson Les Paul Custom from a shop in San Francisco about six years ago and had it professionally repainted by GMW Guitar Works in California in November 2018. This was a $1375 pro repaint and refinish job. Originally, this was 1981 Black Les Paul Custom and was a player so I completely had it redone. All of the hardware and the pickups - EVERYTHING is brand new!! (2018) Originally it had brushed gold EMG 81X's but I swapped them for mirror gold EMG Het Set pickups - that is why they are date stamped 2021 and not 2018. Please note I have recently swapped the pick ups out for Black EMG 81X!!! This guitar appears to have a three-piece maple neck - please see the pictures. Ebony fretboard. Metallica James Hetfield "Het Set" EMG pickups. This is a 1981 vintage Les Paul Custom with a professional repaint. Yes this is a real Gibson Les Paul - the SN and the GMW work order should authenticate it. No sane person would spend almost $1400 to completely strip and repaint a fake Gibson!!!
