Set into the cross are small Golgotha stone fragments. The stones have been gathered from the site of Golgotha in Jerusalem and placed at the Anointing Stone and Blessed in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre before it was sent to me by my friend Evie who lives in Jerusalem. This entire piece measures 2". This will come with the gift box and the COA card shown with the reliquary. I have a large stone which I have broken it into smaller fragments that I use in my various prayer stones, pendants, relic cards and keepsake sculptures. This stone was gathered from the the site of Golgotha. The Anointing Stone also known as the Stone of Unction (that the Golgotha stone was placed on) is a large slab of stone placed inside the church of the Holy Sepulchre, between the Golgotha (the hill of the crucifixion of Jesus), and the Tomb of Jesus. By local tradition, on this rock Jesus' body was laid and prepared for burial. The stones were placed on this spot before sent to me.
