Description: Near the end of her 64-year reign, Queen Victoria authorized an up-dated version of her profile for the one schilling coin to be issued in 1893. Her image was quickly labeled "Old Head." She died in 1901. Lettering on the obverse, translated from the Latin abbreviations, reads "Victoria by the Grace of God Queen of the Britains Defender of the Faith Empress of India." Around the national shield on the reverse, is the famous French phrase, "Honi Soit Qui Mal y Pense," which translates as "Shame on he who thinks evil." An elegant coin, issued near the end of a triumphant reign.
