Description: Vintage paperback copy of The Food of the Gods, by H. G. Wells (Berkley Highland, 1967; fourth printing). Wells's classic science-fiction story about a group of scientists who create a synthetic food that turns children into giants was first published in 1904. Several film versions of this novel have been produced, most notably Village of the Giants, which transforms Wells's Edwardian story into a beach party movie, starring Ron Howard, Beau Bridges, and Toni Basil. This edition came out in 1967, so perhaps it was an attempt to piggyback off of the success (??) of that film. Who knows? This book is in very good condition, with a tight spine and no rips, tears, marks, or other major signs of wear.
