Since that time, the cognac has played an important role in the country’s culture, and today remains a staple of celebrations and gatherings in the region. In what was a truly unforgettable night, attendees were treated to gourmet cuisine, spirited conversation and Hennessy X.O—all while fan girls and dragon dancers set the ambiance. Throughout the evening, artwork by Shanghai-born, London-based artist Shan Jiang was on exhibition. Using a vast array of symbolism, he created an original piece that stands between the two worlds he inhabits.
