Hitchcock's Vertigo ORIGINAL R1984 MOVIE PROGRAM RELEASE JAPAN Very Nice! NR FN

Description: ORIGINAL RELEASE ISSUE R1984 (Re-Release 1984) VERTIGOMOVIE PROGRAM BOOK FROM THE HITCHCOCK FESTIVAL, JAPAN, 1984 © 1984 Universal City Studios, Inc. JAPANESE THEATRICAL PAMPHLETS AND BOOKLETS Want to impress even the staunchest collector? Japanese movie pamphlets never fail. Japanese movie programs (souvenir pamphlets) are only sold in theaters during the movie`s run and they are often a good source of detailed movie information and movie images. Vintage Japanese pamphlets and booklets (also called a souvenir program) are typically available in limited quantities by theaters at the time of the original theatrical release of the film in Japan. They are a booklet that contains elements for in-depth knowledge of the film, such as columns by film critics and experts, interviews with the director and production notes that describe the behind-the-scenes of the film production, etc. What make these Japanese cinema memoriblia so desirable is that they are, for the most part, in full-color, are intricately designed and published featuring photos and scenes from the film, production notes on the film, characters, cast, crew, etc. These cinema memoribilia not only serve as a physical memento of the movie going experience in Japan, but also considered very collectible if their condition is preserved properly as well as their rarity, limited availability, movie popularity, aesthetic appeal and pamphlet design. It is indeed very rare to find a totally complete movie pamphlet or booklet that is in “like new” condition since the booklet was, in fact, purchased to be used by the buyer. In the old days, people had few ways to recall and re-experience a movie. So, the only way for fans to experience the movies they had seen again was with theatrical pamphlets, and the pamphlet culture gradually spread. In the 1970s and 1980s, as the theatrical pamphlets became more and more popular, the size became more consistent (A4 Size) and so did the design and contents. The number of pages was also mostly 24 pages, and thus enjoyed the benefit of being "easy to collect" by cinefiles. Since then, there have been concerns that theatrical pamphlets would disappear with the spread of the internet. However, the pamphlet culture continues to take firm root in Japan and continues the love and appreciation for the theatrical pamphlet culture still supported by loyal fans.[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[ Shipped right here in the USA in a matter of just couple of days instead of possibly months from overseas sellers not to mention who knows what the package will look like when you get it. ]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]A beautiful and scarce original program book from the original 1958 VERTIGO ©1984 Universal City Studios, Inc. made available several years ago inside the theater during the venue and now difficult to obtain especially in this condition.
