Description: For sale is this beautiful but somber impressionist painting of a Venetian canal with a gondola and the surrounding scene. As you see in the pictures, this piece comes in a lovely vintage gilded frame. The painting is of medium size, measuring about 24 inches by 20 inches with the frame, and about 14 inches by 12 inches when considering only the image. The painting is an oil on canvas and it is signed by the artist Aldo Parenzan. An old note on the back of the frame states: "Born in Naples, Italy in 1910. He started to paint as a young boy. At the age of 20 he moved to Rome and was admitted to the classes of painting and designing at the Academy of Belle Arti. In 1950 he participated with a group of Italian artists in international exhibits in Switzerland, France, and Belgium. He had personal exhibits in Modena, Cremona, and Como."
