Description: Nostalgic English Sewing Machine Teapot Designed by Paul Cardew Enchanting teapot depicts an old fashion treadle sewing machine complete with scissors, yarn basket, sewing box & pink roses cover the fabric. A hole in the top thread spindle lets the steam escape. Teapot has a 4 cup capacity. Beautiful gold details adorn the classic black machine. The word Infusion is printed in gold on both sides. This teapot is vintage from the 1990's it shows signs of crazing and has a repair on the crank handle, see photo. The price has been adjusted to reflect this damage. The piece shows very nicely, a collectors dream. The bottom is marked Cardew Design and has cork circles on the feet to protect your furniture. Estate Sale Find, this teapot belonged to an inspired sewing enthusiast. I am told it was a purchase from the Smithsonian Institute in the 1990s, that Paul Cardew was the sole designer for the British Tea Council for many years, and the he is from Devon on the English Coast.
