Description: Instant! Autobiography by Natalia Granger This book is intended for those who have struggled with various concrete elements of writing an autobiography - whether its a matter of finding ones writing motivation, of finding things to write about, or of organizing ones thoughts and memories thematically. This book diverges from those already on the market in several ways. This book is unique in that it provides a flexible template-like structure that can either be used for the purpose of drafting an outline, or it can be as simple as answering the questions in as straightforward a fashion as possible in order to document, without reframing in a larger narrative. This book is intended to extend the work of James Birren and others in the field of Guided Autobiography. In this sense, the author of this book recommends purchasing Telling the Stories of Life through Guided Autobiography Groups as a companion (if not prerequisite) to this volume. In using this book, to have the best experience, we recommend that you do not read ahead. The exercises provided are intended to follow one after the other, in an organic and Socratic pattern. Unlike some books, where you can pick and choose various worksheets to focus on, the goal of this book is to follow the prompts, step by step. FORMAT Paperback LANGUAGE English CONDITION Brand New Author Biography Natalia Granger, LMSW is a social worker in New York State. She specializes in gerontological clinical work and case management, and is interested in the ways that writing and aging intersect. She started, led, and developed a still-flourishing Autobiography and Memoir Writing Group in NYC. She also has facilitated group conversations on various social justice topics through the organization Conversations New York. Among her past experiences, she also has been involved in the NYC Department for the Agings testing and implementation of the Agetastic educational game designed for senior centers, and supported implementation of emotional wellness workshops and depression screenings for seniors. She has experience in both the home health care industry and (confusingly) the health home industry (yes they are different things). She was a clinical worker on the first geriatric-focused ACT team in NYC (based in the Bronx) and currently works out of a small psychiatric hospital providing care coordination.
