Description: Beautiful cobalt blue diamond optic vase from IVV of Italy. This vase would make an impactful statement to any decor, by itself or holding your favorite bouquet. The vase is substantial and nicely weighted at the bottom while remaining more delicate near the top. The diamond optic pattern of the vase throws the light to provide more visual interest in this seemingly simple vase. The vase is nicely finished with a folded and scalloped rim. IVV (Industria Vetraria Valdarnese) located in Tuscany has been hand making quality glass products in Italy since 1952. They have focused on bringing quality glassware to the masses while still making each piece by hand. They have prided themselves on exceptional brilliance and transparency in their glass. Much IVV glass was marked with just a sticker which is missing in this case. Condition notes: The vase is in very good vintage condition. There is minor shelf wear on the bottom, and there is a short (approx. 7mm) scratch on the bottom where it isn't visible when the vase is in use. In addition, I found and area on the side of the vase where it looks like there may be some smudges on the interior. The exterior of the vase is smooth in this area, but I couldn't reach that spot on the inside to feel it. It is pretty hard to see and frankly pretty hard to photograph.
