Description: Japanese Cloisonne Centerpiece with Bronze Ormolu Mounts. Late 19th Century. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE DESCRIPTION: An exceptionally nice cloisonne centerpiece with bronze ormolu mounts. It is composed of a Beautiful Cloisonne Deep Plate or Shallow Bowl mounted in an ornate Bronze Ormolu Frame. The three legs are in the form of Lion's heads with Paw Feet. The handles appear to be in the form of Dragons. There are NO MARKINGS that I can find. SIZE: It is 15" (38.1 cm) across the handles and 6-3/4" (17.1 cm) tall to the tops of the handles. Without the handles, It is about 12-1/2" in diameter and 5" tall (31.75 x 12.7 cm). The Cloisonne dish alone is about 11-3/4" in diameter and a little over 2" deep (29.8 x 5.1 cm). CONDITION: All in all a Wonderful Piece in Very Fine Condition!! The cloisonne dish has a few minor scratches, a tiny nick or two on the enamel, and some pinprick pitting. None of this can even be seen without very close inspection. It Presents Beautifully. The frame appears to have been gilded, but the gilding is worn off except in some relatively inaccessible spots on the underside. There are two tiny breaks in the ormolu at the top of the frame (shown in the last photo), but again, they can only be seen if you're looking for them.
