Description: Yes, it is Jaro Hess's iconic "The Land of Make Believe" lithograph, but what is real, is that you are seeing one of the rare Blue Hue release issues. I cannot verify just when and where they were sold. Perhaps one of the Chicago World's Fair offerings. I have included a photo of a recent sale for one of the equally rare all Yellow Hue printings at around $1,600 and I would assume they were a similar time frame release. Notice the similar concept and black sky. With a 24.5" x 35.875" lined border measurement it also matches the size of a recent offering at $3,000 through Boston Rare Maps in the more common multi-color issue. Hess magnificently incorporated a plethora of iconic scenery and characters from a multitude of fables and fairy tales and created a memorable map tapestry that will honor them all as well as himself well into the coming century.
