Description: Usual library markings and card pouch. Suitable for study and research. Formerly belonged to college library. No print date given. Gift inscription is dated 1899. This book is a volume in the University Edition of Ruskin's works, by the Aldine Book Publishing Company. The first section of 358 pages is devoted to Architecture, with many appealing illustrations. The second section is comprised of essays on moral and social topics, and is 434 pages, including index. The condition of the book is worn and fragile. However it is complete and usable despite blemishes. Most pages are clean and in good condition. All pages are legible. The cover corners are bumped. There are scuffs on the boards. The spine is faded. Spine ends are eroded. Small pieces of cloth missing on bottom spine end. Binding is split between front endpapers. Cover spine is quite loose as a result, but still attached. Noted 25 or so pages with pencilled marginalia and/or underlining. There is a paper clip attached to one page. I did not attempt removal as it appears that would be difficult without tearing. Old tape is applied to connect pages 148-149. The binding is loose in places, with the binding threads visible. Noted a few light smudges on borders. The worn condition of the book attests to it's popularity in it's day. It still retains an antique charm, particulrly the architecture section with it's illustrations. 7.75 inches x 5.75 inches
