About This Print:What used to be the fishing village of Marblehead is well located at the end of a promontory on Boston’s North Shore, with Marblehead Neck and several other smaller islands nicely sheltering it from the northeast winds. The port has a rocky, elevated shoreline but most of this is developed with yacht clubs and private properties, making the shore virtually impregnable to the casual visitor. Marblehead today is a network of narrow streets winding between well-preserved eighteenth and nineteenth-century Georgian-style houses.
