Description: These plates are attributed to Yates and possibly John or William. They are 200 years old dating from the Regency period of 1830. These plates are highly rare and collectable and show how opulent this era was with their bright enamel and gilt colouration. They are perfect additions to any of this set that remains. The brothers John and William Yates operated as earthenware manufacturer at Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent John Yates also operated on his own account between 1784 and 1835 The partnership between John and William Yates (earthenware manufacturers) was dissolved on the 25 March 1808. Although Godden 'Encyclopedia of British Pottery & Porcelain Marks' notes that the partnership lasted until c.1813. William Yates died in 28 August 1825, having retired some years earier. The business was continued by members of the Yates family until c.1835 Fabulous quality and condition, there may be a slight mark here and there, 200 years old.
