We have for sale a 1930`s Keuffel & Esser Surveyors Transit Wonderful Surveyors Transit made by Keuffel & Esser Company of New York. Webelieve this is a Model 5060 transit, it has a serial number 48295,the wood case also has a matching serial number printed on the inside label. The case is worn on front cover and leather strap but all intact. The transit is in beautiful condition with no paint wear from use, the telescoping sight adjust freely with focusing knob and the eyepiece focuses with focusing ring easily, the sight is clear. The compass locks and unlocks easily and the compass works and is accurate. All the level vials are in good working condition. All the knobs, clamp screws, leveling screws and tangent screw tighten and loosen easily. The case is original leather pouches attached to the inside of the door with foldout magnifying glass and sunshade lens cover. It also comes with the original Pendulum and tools Circa,1930`s Marked,Keuffel & Esser Serial 48295 Measure,14 ¼” tall, scope is 11 ½” long. case 16 ¼” tall x 13 ½”wide, 9" deep. Weighs,29 pounds.
