Description: This uncirculated 20,000 Kazakhstani tenge note is a commemorative banknote issued by the National Bank of Kazakhstan in 2013 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the tenge. It is a blue-gray and violet note that is dated 2013, bears the signature of Grigoriy Marchenko, and measures 155 mm x 79 mm. Its obverse side is vertically oriented and features the national emblem, a Pegasus SPARK feature, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Manglik El monumental arch, the Kazakh Eli monument, the flag, and the House of Parliament. Its reverse side shows the outline of Kazakhstan and the Akorda Palace (Presidential Residence) as seen from Ishim River. Security features include a windowed security thread, a solid security thread, and a watermark of a mythic Samruk bird with an electrotype 20000. This note is the first “full circulation” note to be printed on Durasafe, a paper-polymer composite substrate produced by Landqart. It is also the Regional Banknote of the Year 2016 at the Reconnaissance International’s High Security Printing Europe.
