Description: KNIFE ORIGINAL VIETNAM WAR RECON SOG COMBAT VINTAGE PLEASE NOTE MY KNIFE WAS FROM THE VIETNAM WAR, do not confuse the post reproductions of the “SOG” trademark. The real & original SOG knives were thought to be from the CIA by an Okinawa contractor and sent to manufacturers in Japan. Some of the knives for $9.85 in 1964, can be recently over $2,500 for the knife aficionado. Other knives added to the private purchase of the GIs as page 12 of Michael W. Silvey’s book, “SOG KNIFE COLLECTOR”. My knife, the spinoff manufacturers appear to be the same exact ultra rare blade on Silvey’s book, page 12, although the guard and hilt are not the exact of my RECON/SOG (See all the pictures.) My Vietnam War knife is marked Japan at the ricasso. The blade has the unique shape of the Vietnam era of the 7" RECON/SOG. All parts are solid, I listed as very plus good to very good. I tend to be conservative. The only mark is Japan on the blade, Japan is either worn or originally On mine, I had 2 nationally famous knife experts, Frank Traska and John Gibson confirm that this was a Vietnam War knife and almost would have to be from the Japan Sword Co. Ltd. The original scabbard was replaced for the RECON/SOG knife with the American made M2 scabbard of sturdy dark brown leather for Vietnam and with the hand throng. It is scuff, but is solid, including all the threads, staples and the handle snap button hilt. It seems a bit graffiti in the inside of the retention strap, a parachute? (See pictures.) If you win the owner and send me the positive feedback, you get the 43 pages “SOG Knife Collector”, by Michael W. Silvey’s oversized paper book, 11” x 8 ½”, excellent condition with over 50 full color glossy pictures and incudes page 12. On me: Please check on my feedback knives at eBay. I give detailed pictures in all my auctions, along with a detailed description and I grade the item. I will never write in a description “looks good for its age”-whatever that is supposed to mean? Sold as a historic relic. Sorry, no sales to minors. If for any reason or no reason, you are not satisfied, you may return the knife in 2 weeks for a full refund. With me there is no postage reimbursement and no “restocking” rip-off fee. All you pay is return shipping/insurance. (Item must be in the condition as sent.) Sale only for the 48 contiguous American states. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY VERY INTERESTING, ON OTHER ITEMS AT EBAY, ESPECAILLY MY KNIVES.
