Description: We were told this Mortar and Pestle was on a boat and crossed the Atlanticocean to land in New England. This old2 piece kitchen tool could crush herbsbut also apothecary preparations. The mortar is 7" high with 5" diameter. Thepestle is 10" long with 2.5" diameter. Together this weighs 2 lbs 10 oz. andstands 12.5" high. There are some cracks in the wood around the base andwe took a close up photo of a knotin the wood. But this mortar and pestleis in working condition for another100 years.
