The cool jerk was a dance involving holding the arms out in different positions and hip thrusts. This dance started in Detroit and was call the pimp jerk. To avoid censorship, the song title was changed to "Cool Jerk." The "Cool Jerk" single peaked at number 7 on the Billboard hot 100 chart and number 2 on the Billboard r & b chart. The album also includes a follow-up single "Zid Zaggin'" and an earlier single "Dog & Cat."
