LOT OF 59 HARDY BOYS HARDCOVERS - Complete Series 1

Description: SOLD AS A LOT ONLY – NO, I AM NOT WILLING TO BREAK UP THE SET This is a complete set of 59 books in the Hardy Boys series, all of which were written or co-written by Franklin W. Dixon and published by Grosset & Dunlap. Books number 31, 47 and 48 are newer glossy editions and the rest are the older matte editions. The condition of the books ranges from FAIR to VG+ (very good plus), with my rating scale progressing as follows: FAIR . . G . . G+ . . VG- . . VG . . VG+ . . NF- . . NF A book that is in FAIR condition will have a fair bit of wear, but it will not have any flaws that would make it unreadable or in danger of falling apart. The cover may be a little soiled, stained, scuffed, faded, and/or tanned from age and will have moderate or more edge wear. The book may have been bumped on one or more corners. The spine may be slanted and/or cocked. There may be a name, inscription, price and/or bookstore stamp inside somewhere. The pages will be tight, but they may be less crisp than when new, may show some age tanning, and may have smudges, stains and corner folds. Two or three pages may have a small edge tear. A book that is in NF condition will be almost like new. The cover may have very minor edge wear and the pages may show light age tanning. There may be an erased price on the front free endpaper or a price sticker on the back cover. A few books have small spots of white on the spine where the color has been rubbed (or maybe nibbled?) off. The odd book has a bit of age spotting on the page edges. One book has pencil lines drawn across the bottom page edges, and four or five pages have a paperclip shaped rust stain at the top of the page where an old paperclip was used to mark the reader’s place. In two books, the squares beside the titles on the order form at the back of the book have been filled in (most with pencil). One book has a church name and address stamped inside, and it has some paper residue on the back pastedown where I assume there was once a card pocket. In one book the title page had come loose and a previous owner had taped it in place but backwards. I have removed the old tape and reattached the page properly with some bookbinder’s glue, but there are brown stains along the spine side edge of the page before and after the title page, and on the outside edge of the title page itself. One book has a small check mark beside a few of the titles on the list on the back cover.
