Description: Oxford: Lost Club/Redondan Cultural Foundation, 2002. First edition. Booklet. 48 pages. An unusual item, in fine condition. This booklet details the author's relationship to his half-brother John Gawsworth (1912-1970), a prolific but troubled English poet, editor, and bibliophile who also served as King Juan II of Redonda, a semi-fictional monarchy of writers surrounding an uninhabited island in the Caribbean. (For more information on Redonda, a delightful corner of literary history: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Redonda.) This is a harder-to-find item in the Redondan canon. It also includes a foreword from Jon Wynne-Tyson (1924-2020), who, in addition to being Gawsworth's literary executor, reluctantly continued the Redondan tradition as King Juan II following Gawsworth's death. This copy comes from Wynne-Tyson's personal collection.
