Description: "A Tramp Abroad," by Mark Twain, in two leatherbound volumes, published in 1921. These were part of the "Limp Leather" edition of Twain's works published by Harper & Brothers, referring to the soft, flexible leather in which the books were bound. In addition to frontispiece drawings in each volume, a few of Twain's own sketches are scattered throughout the two books. The covers are adorned with embossed portraits of Twain, with gilt titling and decoration on the spine, which remains exceptional bright and clear. Tucked into each book is a small paper bookmark bearing Twain's portrait and a reproduction of his signature. Vol. 1 has 285; Vol. 2 has 296.
