Description: Samus Aran returns in "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" for the Nintendo Wii. This Nintendo game is the third and final chapter in the "Metroid Prime" series. In this original video game, the Galactic Federation calls on the famous bounty hunter for assistance. When a platoon of soldiers is defeated by the space pirates, the federation calls Samus to investigate. However, instead of a space pirate invasion, she finds something far worse: Dark Samus. This evil doppelganger from the previous GameCube games returns and Samus vows to destroy her once and for all. This Wii game was developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo. It had a release date of 2007."Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" is the first Metroid game released on the Nintendo Wii. As such, it incorporates a new control scheme that takes advantage of the hand and arm motion controls the system uses. Similar to the GameCube games, the analog stick on the Wii Nunchuk is in charge of the movement. You will move the stick to run and turn while the buttons allow you to lock onto any target in your vicinity. The Wii Remote controls aiming, firing, and jumping. To play "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption," you must point the controller directly at the screen. The gun on your character's arm will follow whatever you are pointing at. You can also activate your visor and point at specific objects to uncover information about your surroundings. While the game is primarily played from a first-person point of view, it occasionally changes perspectives. When you morph into a ball, the gameplay takes on a third-person view to let you navigate more easily. Your HUD is styled similar to the helmet that Samus wears. In each corner of the HUD are readings for your health, ammo count, and the map. You'll encounter a variety of enemies in your quest to stop Dark Samus. These enemies range from space pirates to native life forms. Some of these enemies are taken from previous games, such as "Super Metroid," while some are brand new. To counter these enemies, you have a variety of powers at your disposal. Some, like the Hypermode, you will start the game with. This powerful attack lets you deal extra damage at the cost of health. Some powers, like the Ice Missiles or the Nova Beam, you must find as you play. These items will aid you in both defeating enemies and reaching previously inaccessible areas.Unlike previous "Metroid" games, "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" doesn't take place on one single planet. Instead, the action takes place on a variety of planets. As your foes travel from planet to planet to spread the evil Phazon, Samus follows closely behind. You'll start your adventure exploring relatively harmless planets like Bryyo. Later in the game, you'll encounter planets infected by Phazon where everything you see is dangerous. "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" has a rating of T by the ESRB. Like all Wii titles, this game is compatible with the Wii U platform. This adventure is over 30 hours long for those who want to find every secret.
