During the early 20th Century, Robeson's quality was comparable with Cattaraugus, Remington, and Union Cutlery.THIS IS A KNIFE FROM MY PRIVATE COLLECTION. DETAILS BELOW AND IN PHOTOS. Color is what Robeson called “Strawberry Bone” (see closeups with Haversion Canals of the bone; apparent in bald areas). Length = 3-1/8” closed. Oval shield like a CASE shield with “ROBESON” stamped onto it. Three blades with original finish. No cracks or chips. MINT. FREE SHIPPINGMade by ROBESON CUTLERY COMPANY (ROCHESTER, NY).Vintage 3- BLADE WHITTLER - on Equal-End Frame.Tang stamp is ROBESON / SHUREDGE / USA (1922-1940).This is an old 20th Century knife with 3 unused blades.Knife is 3-1/8" closed with brass liners.The blade steel is carbon steel.There is an attractive long swedge along the blade spine (old-timey workmanship).Nickel-silver oval shield. Blades have strong snaps. Absolutely no play when open blades (tight knife). Blades have excellent matchup with the backspring. Handles are jigged strawberry redbone with GREAT color and texture. Last 2 photos are closeups showing the bald areas where Haversion canals are most apparent (difficult to photograph). Handles have no pin cracks other issues.Does not appear to have ever been sharpened. Blades are full.Blades have original mirror finish. Blades may have minor handling scratches and minor age spots at tangs (some of the lines in photos are from me wiping the blades with an oily cloth). I try to be careful with saying "MINT", but I am confident this one warrants the word. Well-made old knife. No box. Props used in these photographs are not included in the sale. I have not cleaned, buffed, or otherwise modified this knife. I do not clean knives, as per request from collectors. See photos for details.
