In 1978, the most versatile and influential distortion pedal was invented in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After playing, repairing and modifying every distortion pedal on the market, Scott Burnham and Steve Kiraly decided to develop a pedal that had never been seen before. They wanted something that was not available in the MXR, DOD and BOSS product lines at the time, so they set out to create a pedal that could produce sounds ranging from overdrive to distortion and even fuzz. By 1979, Scott had completed the circuit in his basement workshop surrounded by RATs, and the story began. The PackRat is the ultimate tribute to the evolution of the RAT over 40 years and its impact on the guitar sound. Artists of all genres, including Nirvana, John Scofield, Pink Floyd, Metallica, REM, Eagles, Jeff Beck, and Radiohead, have used the iconic tones found inside this unassuming black box to create their sound. Like multi-mode pedal series such as Muffuletta and Bonsai, PackRat uses a unique digital runway system to route 261 components through 40 individual switches. Select from nine modes based on legendary and rare models, and the analog circuit components will be perfectly reproduced, even down to the aging (component drift) of the components. ・OG: Based on the first RAT produced. This early model was sold for about four years and is called the V1 model. ・WHT: Based on the white rectangular logo, commonly known as the "white face", released in 1984. ・TRB: Based on the TURBO RAT, which uses LEDs for diodes. ・BRAT: Based on the BRAT with an input buffer circuit and soft clipping added in addition to the RAT's standard hard clipping. ・DRTY: Based on the 2004 You Dirty RAT. ・LA: Based on the LA Metal released by Ibanez in 1986. ・GRF: Based on the MO'D released by Landgraff from 1999 to 2000. ・Caroline Guitar Company: Based on the WAVE CANNON by Caroline Guitar Company. ・JHS: Recreates the circuit of the Pro Co Pack Rat Mod released by JHS.
